Access: An operation that allows authorized individuals to view and extract copies of stored electronic documents.
Client: A computer connected to a server over a network.
First, open the Mozilla Thunderbird program.
Click on the Help menu to view the available options and select About Thunderbird.
If the version installed on your computer is not the latest, you will be prompted to install the update; otherwise, the system will inform you that Thunderbird is up to date.
POP and IMAP are the two methods available to configure access to your inbox within your email client.
If you choose POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3)—currently the most widely used—messages are retrieved from the Inbox folder on the mail server and downloaded locally to your computer. They will no longer be visible via webmail unless you enable the option to keep a copy on the server.
With IMAP4 (Internet Mail Access Protocol 4), your messages—whether in the Inbox or any other folder—remain stored on the server, and only a copy is downloaded to your computer. This allows you to access your mailbox from multiple devices and view the same content, provided that all access is via IMAP4 or webmail.
It is important to note that if you delete a message from your email client, it will also be deleted from the webmail.
Server: A computer connected to a network with other computers, where information used by these computers is stored.

Authentication: A process through which a computer, software, or recipient user verifies that the computer, software, or user from which they received a communication is indeed the claimed sender. One of the most commonly used authentication methods requires the user to enter a username and password. More advanced methods are based on various encryption systems.
Click on Continue to conclude Account Connection.
The email account was successfully connected, click on Finish.
The newly created email account is visible on the left side of the screen.
To enable synchronization of the subfolders from the webmail within the client, highlight the mailbox email address, right-click, and then select Subscribe.
If needed, you can expand the Inbox folder to view its entire contents.
At this point, you can select the folder(s) you want to synchronize with the client and click OK to proceed.
